Everyday Health sent me their first edition of Everyday Health: My Calorie Counter, by Jennifer Sucov and Maureen Namkoong, MS, RD, to review. This is the perfect calorie counter to keep in your purse or in your car. It’s a handy book to have on the go to ensure that you always have the information to make healthy choices.
This book is broken up into a few different sections and I will give a brief synopsis of each.
The introduction of the book contains helpful information about making healthy choices and weight loss. It’s basically a start up guide to help you as you begin your weight loss journey but all of the information is a good reminder to get back to the basics for those of us who have been on this weight loss journey for some time.
There is a section with nutritional information of common foods that you might eat each day. There is also a section of nutritional information for specific brands of food. These sections would be beneficial in planning meals and making out a grocery list.
How many times have you ordered something at a restaurant thinking you were making a healthy choice only to go home and find out that it was loaded with calories? One of sections in the book contains nutritional information for many popular restaurants. So whether you’re watching your calories, carbs, sodium or trying to increase your protein intake, this book has the information you need to make an informed decision to help you meet your health and weight loss goals.
The key to success in health goals and weight loss goals is having the information that you need to make informed decisions. Although, it doesn’t help to have the tools of success sitting at home on the counter when you’re dining out at a restaurant. This book is small and compact enough to fit into your purse or even your pocket if you are a man who wears cargo shorts. (It’s a little big for the standard pocket—although it is still small and compact enough to be handy on the go).
But overall, I recommend anything that will equip me, or you, with information needed to make healthy choices. So check out the book! You can click on the button on my sidebar with the picture of the book to see more information about this book, or click here.
