Just Because

First of all, I want to apologize to anyone who has tried to visit my blog and got a malware warning. It turns out that a blog in my blog roll must have been hacked and since I was linked to their blog, you would get the warning message when you visited my blog. Hopefully I got the issue resolved now—but there is no known malware on my blog! Thanks to Staci for pointing this out to me!! If you ever see messages like this again—PLEASE let me know! Thanks! (And check out Staci’s blog—it’s a good one!!)

Since I had to fast this morning, I decided to sleep in a little later so I didn’t have to spend 3 hours being hungry. It felt fantastic! I woke up with enough time to do a little studying before I headed out for my blood work. I will be interested to see the results. I have never had the blood work done because I didn’t want to know if I was diabetic or pre-diabetic or if I had high cholesterol—well now I’ll know. It’s best to know, I suppose. Diabetes runs in my family and I want to do whatever I can to keep it from continuing into my life.

After that was done, I came home and studied some more and then made myself breakfast. I had an egg white beaters sandwich on a light whole grain english muffin along with a bowl of fruit and milk for 10 points.

A delicious and tasty breakfast! I was amazed at how long this kept me full.

Who doesn’t love getting packages in the mail? Look what I got today!

Awwww! Wasn’t that sweet? Thanks Mom!! I love the idea of a “Just Because” gift. Smile

And then it was off to school. Everything went relatively smoothly today and I enjoyed my last class because we got to play around with iPads again. So fun!

Before my second class, I ate 1/2 serving of Cheerios for 1 point.

I stopped to pick up more natural peanut butter at the local store that makes it and then I headed home.

I ate a Fiber One Chew Bar for 2 points.

I also had carrots for 0 points.

When I got home, I had to sample some of that delicious peanut butter, so I had an apple dipped in peanut butter for 3 points.

Hubby and I were both relatively new to the area when we got married. It’s been fun getting to know the area and finding unique local places like the one that makes natural peanut butter. Slowly but surely we’re finding all of the hidden treasures in town!

I was sooo hungry—still! I ate a package of Pirate’s Booty for 2 points while doing homework.

And I had some snackage issues when I found out that hubby was going to be home quite a bit later than usual. I was just too hungry and I know how dangerous that can be. I should have just eaten a sandwich or something after class—something more satisfying and filling than all of the “snacks” that I ate.

For supper, I made salmon with roasted potatoes and a side salad with lettuce, tomato, Feta, and Champaign Pear vinaigrette for 8 points.

For dessert, I had FF/SF pudding for 2 points.

That would have left me with 4 points left for the day. But with my snackage, I’m sure they’re gone—although I didn’t go off the deep end or anything! I’m probably right about at target. But the problem is when I’m not controlling myself—that’s my real issue!

Tomorrow is WI day and as of this morning, it should be a good one as long as my weight doesn’t shoot up—which it has been known to do. Fingers crossed!

  2. Ok, just so you know what a dork I really am, I read where you put my name and shrieked "ohhhhh, she gave a shout out to my blog!" LOL My husband and kids officially think I'm crazy. ha

Hope the BP monitoring is going okay. I'm sure you are nervous about the blood work! I think it's great that you are getting it done. Very smart! Like you said, better to be knowledgeable!

  3. What a lovely thought from your mom. I love the Avon Naturals range, I found it strange that your pic shows them exactly as they are over here in England, I would have thought they would have varied in design a little but no.

Also wishing you well with the weigh in this week. x
