The Mondays of of a holiday week are much easier than regular Monday’s. I hope that the work week goes quickly!
I woke up feeling pretty miserable this morning. I have been battling what I think are allergies/asthma issues, although it may be a bug of some sort. But this morning my throat was very sore and my chest hurt. I REALLY hope that it goes away so I’m not sick over Thanksgiving!
For breakfast this morning I was craving comfort food. So not much protein for me. I had a slice of toast with PB and a sliced banana along with a glass of milk for 7 points.
You can see a new tab at the top of the page for the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge. This is where I will track my workouts and achievements for the challenge along with my points earned. So far, this challenge has motivated me to be more active. This weekend, I raked leaves for an hour, ran 2 miles, biked 9 miles, and walked 2 miles. A good start!
While working this morning I sipped on coffee with creamer for 1 point.
On my first break, I ate a slice of deli turkey and 1/2 slice of Swiss cheese, heated in the microwave for 1 point.
When I got back from my break, our systems were down and there was nothing they could do but wait for them to be fixed. So I sat there for 2 hours without working. My boss asked me if I wanted to volunteer to leave until they were back up—no, I didn’t want to, but I felt like I should since I wasn’t doing anything anyways. So I took the time. I ended up getting a couple of hours off.
For lunch, I ate homemade chicken noodle soup for 3 points.
And also had a side salad with lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, blue cheese and dressing. I ended up having 1 1/2 of these because it tasted so good! 6 points.
The 4 hours without having any work made the morning fly by, as you can imagine! I had time to research a bit for our upcoming cruise, shop for hubby’s birthday and do house work. So nice. I should have been working on homework…But it’s Thanksgiving break, right!? I did get a little bit done though.
On my break, I ate an orange for 0 points. Vitamin C, Please!
I also made a cup of Duchess Grey tea for 0 points.
And by the time of my last break, my boss asked me if I wanted the rest of the day off. Yes, please! I wasn’t feeling very well and I was reading a book for school—so it worked out well.
I was really hungry, so I ate 1/2 oz. of dry roasted peanuts for 2 points.
I could tell a big difference without having much protein for breakfast.
I also sipped on some Yerba Mate tea while reading for 0 points.
The tea felt great on my throat today. And this tea supposedly has some healing powers—I’ll try all I can to keep from getting sick!
I read online that gargling cayenne pepper mixed in water would take away a sore throat. With the Thanksgiving holiday ahead, I was willing to give this a try too. So I ran up to the store and bought some cayenne pepper and gave it a try. It took my sore throat away and gave me sore lips! lol
For supper, Hubby cooked. He made scrambled eggs and sausage gravy over bread. I also had some banana bread. 12 points.
When I’m not feeling well, I want to eat for comfort. I battled it all day. I ate a little more than usual at supper…
I also had a small bowl of fruit: 1/2 banana, blackberries, and pomegranate—0 points.
For dessert, I had some ice cream for 4 points.
I am out of weekly points, so I ended up using 2 AP’s. I don’t like to do that, but it’s been a bit of a crazy week.
Since I’m not feeling well, I’m taking a rest day. I’m sad because I’m doing really well in the HBBC. But, there’s still lots of time and hopefully I will feel better for tomorrow! I still get 1 point for eating 7 servings of fruits and veggies though.
I have boiled some honey and fresh lemon juice because it’s supposed to help with congestion. I’m sure that adds some calories, but oh well. I don’t want to be sick over Thanksgiving!!
2 more days!! Have you signed up for the Thankful Healthy Blogger 5k yet? Have you spread the word?
