NSV #1
Today was day 30 of the 30 Day Shred and I completed the challenge!!
30 Days of squats:
Backwards windmills:
Weight training moves:
Shadow Boxing:
…and much, much more!
I love the workouts, they’re great for burning calories and working every part of your body. I took measurements but found that I hadn’t really shrunk much at all. I did lose 3/4” on my hips, but other than that—not much else. I was hoping to tone my arms. But I love the workout anyway, and I know that it has made me more fit—so no regrets! I did lost 5.4 lbs. during the 30 Days, so that’s something! I know the workout is a good one. My sister, who is already fit, did the 30 Day Shred and lost inches like crazy. So way to go to her! Maybe someday when I’m smaller, I’ll see better results in that way. I burned 5,741 calories doing the 30 Day Shred alone. I’m proud of sticking to it, even when I wanted to quit!
I can’t help but look at these pictures that hubby took of me and pick out all of the things that I don’t like. My “thunder” thighs, my saggy arms, and my big hips—but I have to tell myself that these are pictures of someone in action. They are pictures of me working to change the things that I don’t like to see. And someday down the road, when I get to my goal weight, I can compare these pictures to then and will be able to see the progress and how working hard got me where I will be! But I do like to be real. And as embarrassing as it is, I am posting these pictures to prove that you don’t have to be a fitness model to workout. Real women like me, and YOU, can do this too and we can kick butt while doing it! Who's with me!?
Here I am—a Winner—not a quitter!
NSV# 2
After my ring had fallen off my hand a few too many times for comfort, hubby and I took it to the jewelry store last night to have it resized. I went from a size 9.25 to a 7.5. That’s a big difference!
It felt weird trying on that smaller ring sizer. It will be weird to get my ring back and feel how small it will be now! My fingers have shrunk, and I know they will shrink again—but at least I don’t have to worry about losing my ring anymore!
The women at the jewelry store were asking me if I had lost weight and what I was doing. We talked about the couch to 5k and running. I just felt so proud of myself for even being able to have that conversation. For other women asking me, ME-Alissa-, how I got started and admiring how far I had come and for running 5k’s. That made me feel good, too.
NSV #3
I bought—and FIT INTO—a size 16 dress last night!!! I’ve been wearing size 18’s. A big step from size 24/26’s!
And a Scale Victory:
Today, I hit a new low on the scale—unfortunately, it’s not weigh in day, but it’s just another sign that I’m doing all of the right things! Let’s just say that Onederland was closer than EVER this morning and I hope I can keep it off for weigh in day on Wednesday!!
Are you celebrating any NSV’s? I’d love to hear about them!
