Weigh in Day: I actually weighed this time!

A Journey to Thin's Weekly Weigh In

This week wasn’t a good one as far as my eating was concerned. I stopped tracking again. I am wasting so much time—if I just stayed on track I’d probably have lost 30 lbs. by now.

But there’s more to this than willpower. After all, I have been fat since I was about 7 years old—I think there’s some work that needs to be done so I can make the habits stick.

I made the mistake of buying Halloween candy on Wednesday and I just want to eat it! I did buy one big bag of candy that I don’t care for—but those Reese’s snack size pumpkins won’t stop calling my name!

Can I play the hormones card?

However, I did lose 1.9 lbs.—keep him mind that this is over the course of three weeks. I guess it’s not horrible if you think about my goal being to lose 1 lb. per week. But a loss is a loss and it’s better than a gain any day.

The horror of only having lost 4.1 lbs. since April. Sigh.

In other news, I’ve been working on “me” a little bit. I am using my Gwynnie Bee subscription to try to go outside of my comfort zone a bit.

I’ve been trying the leggings with a dress/tunic look. When I say “go outside of my comfort zone”, I really do mean that my comfort zone is quite boxy and restrictive and most people probably dress like this all of the time and call it a comfy outfit.

I have had zero confidence for most of my life. But I’m putting forth the effort to try to dress in ways that I want to dress but have felt too embarrassed to because of my weight.

That being said, I tried out this Lucie Lu Sativa Dress in Aztec Print and paired it with black leggings, a black Old Navy cardigan, and Madden Girl Black Macramé Portia C Moccasins (Amazon affiliate link)—the shoes are SUPER comfy by the way. I just wore what I had.

I’m obviously no fashion maven, but I felt cute in this outfit while wearing it. When I looked in the mirror though, not so much—I felt like I looked about 7 months pregnant and decided “whatever” and wore it anyways.

Please excuse the mess on the floor in the picture—I wasn’t planning on posting these pictures! Also, my mirror is ancient and has an un-washable fog, hence, the pictures are horrible quality.

I’m considering buying this dress since it’s fairly affordable and it’s really comfy—but I’m not sure I can get over how I feel like I look huge in this dress….decisions, decisions.

I’m loving the Aztec prints right now. My mom bought me this super cute sweater in the Aztec print that is black and white—I love it.

That’s all for now! Have a great weekend and Happy Halloween!

Things I Love Thursday: All Kinds of Randoms!

Things I Love Thursday 9-17

Fast Food Nutrition Calories Plus Calculator for Weight Loss and Calorie Watchers App

image

I have been using this app FOREVER and I love it. It has both PointsPlus values and points from the old system for just about every restaurant out there—many more than Weight Watchers has the information for in their app. It’s well worth the $2.99! If you count calories, that information is in there too.

Wendy’s Side Salad

Garden Side Salad

Yesterday I was running errands and lunch time rolled around so I decided to stop at Wendy’s for a quick lunch. I never go to Wendy’s, but after a quick look at the App mentioned above, I decided I could eat a healthy meal there for relatively low Points.

I ordered the Ultimate Grilled Chicken Sandwich (which was really good too), and a side salad. It was the best side salad ever—not that it was anything special, but it was made of fresh greens, tomatoes, and shaved asiago cheese. I ordered BBQ ranch and avoided the croutons. Ordering it this way made the salad approximately 160 calories of deliciousness!

My First Gwynnie Bee Box

Gwynnie Bee Subscription Box 1

Okay, signing up for a 30-day free trial with Gwynnie Bee was totally spontaneous…but I’m glad I did it. I just might continue my subscription. I really like the outfit that I’m wearing above—but it’s totally and completely outside of my comfort zone. And that’s kind of why I should do it. I need to gain more confidence and feel good about myself in the clothes that I’m wearing. I’d also love to add a little bit of fashion to the blog and this would give me the opportunity! It would be fun to share my experience attempting to gain confidence.

Let’s be honest, I can’t afford really nice clothes that flatter my plus size body (that is hopefully shrinking)—so being able to try out up to 21 pieces per month for only $35 seems kind of worth it (if I go with 1 piece at a time). I love that I can purchase an item if I really like it—I could buy this dress for $44 and it’s really good quality…as in better than anything I own!

I would add a t-shirt or something beneath because, well, my arms. I’m thinking I could add a pair of leggings with this and it’d be good for a cool fall day—leggings would be new for me too…but I figure I’m wearing too-tight yoga pants an awful lot, so what’s really the difference between that and leggings? And with leggings I’d be wearing a dress that would cover my legs better.

I Will Write Typography Print

I Will Write Typography Print Motivational by thedreamygiraffe

I’m thinking I want one of these in my new office area! I just love the quote and it’s so true about me. I just wish there was a color scheme available that will go with my theme…but I do need some pops of color and the colorfulness is certainly “me”. I found this at thedreamygiraffe Etsy Shop.

Serta 3” Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper

We bought a Sleep Number bed a few years ago and it’s been a huge disappointment. There are separate air chambers for each of us so that we can choose our own Sleep Numbers—sounds good in theory but it creates this dip in the bed and we both end up with horrible aches and pains. from basically sleeping at an angle all the time.

Hubby returned home from his work trip this week with a Serta 3” Gel-Memory Foam Mattress Topper (Amazon affiliate link), per a recommendation from a co-worker. Sleep has been amazing ever since we added this topper! We don’t wake up with aches and pains anymore. It’s so soft and cushy—I just love it.

So how is that for a random list of Things I Love? What are you loving this week?
