Things I Love Thursday

This week has gone so fast! I can’t believe it’s almost Friday already. We had a busy weekend and then Little Miss Sunshine and I have spent the week at my parent’s so that I can help my mom since she only has the use of one arm right now. I always love being home!

Here are the things I’m loving this week. I’d love for you to share yours!

♥ Watching These Two Play

My sister and nephew spent some time at my parent’s early this week. My nephew is only three weeks older than Little Miss Sunshine and it’s so fun to watch them interact with each other. We weren’t always so sure if they loved or hated each other! Is this a hug or a shove? Or as my aunt called it, a “shug”.

♥ Starbucks Toasted Graham Latte

This is my new favorite Starbucks drink. I order the skinny and it makes a delightful treat. So far I’ve only ordered the iced version but it’s definitely time to switch over to the warm drinks now that the weather is cool.

♥ Chick-fil-a Grilled Market Salad

We don’t currently have a Chick-fil-a within driving distance and so when we’re visiting my parents I always want to eat there. I ordered this salad and it was DELICIOUS!

♥ Little Miss Sunshine’s Hiding Skills

This just cracks me up. She thinks she’s hiding. She also thinks she’s hiding when she lays under our glass coffee table, or simply lays down on the floor with her head down. So funny and so cute!

♥ EOS Lip Balm

EOS Lip Balm (affiliate link) makes my lips so soft. It’s that time of year when I start getting dry lips and I have been taking advantage of these delicious moisturizing lip balms. It really does make my lips happy! And the packaging is just fun.

My sister surprised me for my 30th birthday with a very special gift! I had so much fun opening it. She wanted to send me 30 items but with a baby and a toddler in tow she couldn’t quite get that done! So she ended up giving me 20 items and a $10 gift card to Target! Certainly works for me. Pink is my favorite color so this was just perfect!

♥ My Father-in-Law

I don’t think he would mind me posting his picture here, but I don’t believe he knows about my blog either! In the last few weeks, he babysat Little Miss Sunshine two times. One time on my birthday so I could go have a little me time, and another time while I had to go to the doctor. Today, I invited him to go to a fall festival and we had a lot of fun! I wouldn’t have been brave enough to take Little Miss Sunshine on my own, and I think he gets a little depressed and lonely during the days now that he can’t work. Win win!

 

♥ Inspirational Meme

I saw this on Facebook and knew that I had to share. Sometimes what we think are big things that weight us down and keep us from going after our goals are really pretty small things that aren’t all that important.

 

♥ Little Miss Sunshine

Of course I love her every week, but I just wanted to share this little moment in our lives. She is at a really fun age. She can communicate a little bit now. She’s like my little shadow—and a pretty cute one at that! It’s fun seeing more of her personality—she’s really funny!

Fast Food Nutrition Calories Plus Calculator for Weight Loss and Calorie Watchers App

I have been using this app FOREVER and I love it. It has both PointsPlus values and points from the old system for just about every restaurant out there—many more than Weight Watchers has the information for in their app. It’s well worth the $2.99! If you count calories, that information is in there too.

 

Wendy’s Side Salad

Yesterday I was running errands and lunch time rolled around so I decided to stop at Wendy’s for a quick lunch. I never go to Wendy’s, but after a quick look at the App mentioned above, I decided I could eat a healthy meal there for relatively low Points.

I ordered the Ultimate Grilled Chicken Sandwich (which was really good too), and a side salad. It was the best side salad ever—not that it was anything special, but it was made of fresh greens, tomatoes, and shaved asiago cheese. I ordered BBQ ranch and avoided the croutons. Ordering it this way made the salad approximately 160 calories of deliciousness!

 

My First Gwynnie Bee Box

Okay, signing up for a 30-day free trial with Gwynnie Bee was totally spontaneous…but I’m glad I did it. I just might continue my subscription. I really like the outfit that I’m wearing above—but it’s totally and completely outside of my comfort zone. And that’s kind of why I should do it. I need to gain more confidence and feel good about myself in the clothes that I’m wearing. I’d also love to add a little bit of fashion to the blog and this would give me the opportunity! It would be fun to share my experience attempting to gain confidence.

Let’s be honest, I can’t afford really nice clothes that flatter my plus size body (that is hopefully shrinking)—so being able to try out up to 21 pieces per month for only $35 seems kind of worth it (if I go with 1 piece at a time). I love that I can purchase an item if I really like it—I could buy this dress for $44 and it’s really good quality…as in better than anything I own!

I would add a t-shirt or something beneath because, well, my arms. I’m thinking I could add a pair of leggings with this and it’d be good for a cool fall day—leggings would be new for me too…but I figure I’m wearing too-tight yoga pants an awful lot, so what’s really the difference between that and leggings? And with leggings I’d be wearing a dress that would cover my legs better.

 

I Will Write Typography Print

I’m thinking I want one of these in my new office area! I just love the quote and it’s so true about me. I just wish there was a color scheme available that will go with my theme…but I do need some pops of color and the colorfulness is certainly “me”. I found this at thedreamygiraffe Etsy Shop.

 

Serta 3” Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper

We bought a Sleep Number bed a few years ago and it’s been a huge disappointment. There are separate air chambers for each of us so that we can choose our own Sleep Numbers—sounds good in theory but it creates this dip in the bed and we both end up with horrible aches and pains. from basically sleeping at an angle all the time.

Hubby returned home from his work trip this week with a Serta 3” Gel-Memory Foam Mattress Topper (Amazon affiliate link), per a recommendation from a co-worker. Sleep has been amazing ever since we added this topper! We don’t wake up with aches and pains anymore. It’s so soft and cushy—I just love it.

Oh.My.Goodness. These are the best thing ever. I would totally swap out an ice cream sundae to eat one of these. I love the bits of chocolate and almonds in the coconut-y yogurt. And I see that Chobani makes more Flip flavors…I’ll be on the lookout for those!

I feel like a liar. When most people ask how I’m doing, I respond with a smile and an “I’m fine. How are you?”, when actually I’m not fine at all. I’m fighting a war inside my head and it’s horrible. When I saw this girl’s tattoo on Facebook which reads “I’m fine” from the viewpoint of another person, but “save me” from the girl’s viewpoint—it describes depression so clearly to me. In the depths of depression, I just want someone to save me and to make it all better—but it’s a war I must fight on my own. I don’t want a tattoo, but I love the message of this one!

 

AGB Woman Maxi Skirt

I bought this black/blue maxi skirt when I was spending the week at my parent’s a while back. I found it at a clearance store which sells name brand items at really, really low prices. For example, I bought this skirt for $4 and I believe it was originally $48. I wear mine with black flip flops and a black lacey shirt (not tucked in). It’s super cute, really light and cool, and very comfortable! It’s so rare to find something so inexpensive that is perfect in every way!

I am loving my #AirbrushedPerfectLegs by Sally Hansen​! I was skeptical, but I am impressed by the results! The pictures don't lie. No streaks and it looks totally natural. It was easy to apply and it washed right off of my hands. I'm excited to try some of the other products like the Airbrush Sun gradual tanning lotion or the Airbrush face makeup. Yep, that’s right! $100 will buy quite a few diapers! I participated in a Twitter party and was the very last winner! It made my effort worth it. Whoohoo! Plus, I just love Babies R Us. They have everything that I need in one place. I’m sad that our local store closed down. We have gotten a lot of great deals there! Our car seats and stroller, nursery rocking chair, and numerous gift registry items were from there.

Hipsy Headbands

The headband I’m wearing above is a Hipsy headband. It’s kind of hard to see because of the Instagram filter I used, but it’s a sparkly gold color and is my current favorite headband.

 

I don’t just love Hipsy headbands for how cute they are, seriously they have so many cute patterns and designs, but what I love even more is that the company has a lifetime guarantee. Sure enough, when the band broke on my first one, they had excellent and prompt customer service and sent me a new one free of charge AND a discount for another order! LOVE.

My New Shoes

I have been looking for a comfy pair of flat shoes for a long time. I found these Rampage grey Sharlene slip-on loafers on clearance for $15 at a local store. Oh my goodness—they are so comfortable.
