It has been a while since I wrote about my reasons for wanting to lose
weight. It helps to keep your “why” in sight because it’s probably the biggest
motivator in weight loss.
Here are a handful of my reasons.
Good Health
I don’t want to have health problems at a young age. There are a lot of
health issues that can arise with obesity and I don’t want my family to have to
suffer. I want to be healthy and vibrant for as long as possible so that I can
be there for my husband and daughter.
A 2nd Pregnancy
I had a horrific experience with a doctor regarding my weight while I was
pregnant. I still have not worked up the courage to write about this yet—but
it’s something that does need to be said someday. I don’t want to experience
that ever again. The next pregnancy, I want to feel cute as a pregnant woman—not
huge and overweight. Plus, it’s healthier for the mama and baby.
Self-confidence
I have very little self-confidence and I know that losing weight will help me
gain some. I want to feel good in my own body and be able to dress stylishly
without restrictions on the clothes that are available for me to wear.
Less Worry
If you’ve ever been overweight you will know what I’m talking about. I worry
that the belt won’t fit over my lap, or that a chair won’t hold me. I worry that
I won’t be able to fit into a booth. I worry that I will weigh too much to be
able to ride a roller coaster or to participate in an activity with my daughter.
There’s so much worry about my size.
To Be Thin
I’ve never in my life been thin. I want to know what that’s like and I want
to experience life to the fullest.
Hawaii
Ever since 2008 when I started this journey, it has been my goal to get down to my ideal weight and reward myself
with a trip to Hawaii. It would be awesome to accomplish this by next year
because hubby and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary and we’d like to go on a
nice trip together.
I’m sure I could always think of more reasons why I want to lose the
weight—there are so many!
What are your reasons?
