Turning 30 recently has me thinking about aging because I’m beginning to see signs of it already.
Not that I’m wrinkly with a head full of white hair, but there are just subtle signs—like new freckles and age spots on my skin, white hair showing up, my teeth aren’t as brilliantly white (thanks to coffee), and fine lines on my face.
Some of these aging signs make me wish I had taken better care of my skin when I was a teenager (hello sunscreen), but so it goes. It is what it is.
However, I can take steps to try to slow down the signs of aging. Holly Homer from Nu Skin contacted me to review their Face Lift Original Formula with Activator and I was on board!
Disclaimer: I received the Nu Skin Face Lift Original Formula with Activator and was compensated for this post. Opinions are honest and 100% my own.
The Nu Skin Face Lift Formula with Activator promises to “immediately temporarily lift and tighten the face and neck for a firmer, more youthful appearance”. It costs $34.50 for the set and would include numerous applications.
I was excited to give this a try and see what it would do. I showered and with clean and natural skin, I started my trial.
But first, before pictures. I didn’t edit the photos of myself in this post at all—it’s all me, for better or worse.
The product is really easy to use. Certainly much easier and less painful than an actual face lift—and I imagine much less expensive too!
After you’ve washed your face, you mix 1 tsp. of the Face Lift Powder with 1 tsp. of the Face Lift Activator until you get the consistency of a thin lotion.
The next step is application. Nu Skin suggests that you test it in an inconspicuous spot on your face to check for irritancy first and if all goes well, you rub it onto your skin in an upward-outward motion until your face and neck are covered. And that’s it.
And then it’s the waiting game—30 minutes, to be exact.
Initially, it just makes your face all shiny. Here I am immediately after the application.
It wasn’t long before I felt the mixture drying and getting tight on my skin. I couldn’t move my face muscles as normal and of course I had to have a little fun with that.
You’re welcome for the laugh.
Maybe I shouldn’t have moved my face during the 30 minutes? The instructions didn’t say not to—and a girl has to smile.
After the 30 minutes were up, I used a damp washcloth to remove the product, and rinsed my face with warm water.
And now for the results!
I think my face does look smoother—I know it felt nice and smooth.
What you can’t see in the photos is how my face felt tighter and firmer even after the mixture was removed. I could definitely feel it and is lasted a couple of days.
Now I know that I don’t have a lot of signs of aging, but I can imagine how this product would work on someone who does—because I felt it working on me with just this one application.
Nu Skin suggests that the product be used every 3-5 days. The product is fragrance-free (which my allergies appreciate!) and safety-allergy-dermatologist tested. It’s manufactured in the U.S.
The only downside that I can see is that the ingredients are not all natural and there are quite a few ingredients listed that I am not sure how to pronounce and I do not know what they are.
