Experimental Granola Bars- 4 Points Plus- Recipe Week 9

GRANOLABARS 003

Today’s recipe was an experiment. Hubby and I decided to try to make homemade granola bars. These were good, but a little high in points- we’re going to work on perfecting them and getting a lower points value. We based this recipe off of other granola bar recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups quick oats
  • 14 oz. can of sweetened and condensed milk
  • 2 Tbs. Brummel and Brown Natural Yogurt Spread
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Uncle Sam’s Cereal
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup rice crispy cereal

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.
  3. Mix all of the ingredients together.
  4. Press the mixture into the greased pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Let them cool, cut into 24 squares.

These are 4 points per square and do have a good flavor! Stay tuned for more granola bar recipes in the future!

  4. This recipe looks terrific... thinking out loud here... I wonder if fat free sweetened condensed milk would lower the point value...
