Jolly Time Popcorn- *GIVEAWAY*

I am all about trying to find healthy snacks. Apples, oranges, grapes, bananas- they’re all the best kind of snacks, but sometimes I’m just looking for something a little different. Something that makes me feel like I’m not really dieting, but I’m still being healthy.

I have been a HUGE fan of Jolly Time popcorn since I can remember. I even bought this popcorn bowl set before hubby and I first got married.

So my love affair with Jolly Time Popcorn goes back at least 4 years. ;)

I’ve even sent in for the reusable grocery bags in the past. lol

You get the picture- I really like Jolly Time.

Jolly Time was extremely generous in sending me a gift pack of their spectacular popcorn to review. My contact at Jolly Time was very friendly and my impression of Jolly Time has become even more positive. Overall, this is just a great company!

My absolute favorite flavor is the KettleMania. I LOVE the sweet and salty flavor of this popcorn. I also like the Mallow Magic that comes with a packet of something like marshmallow cream that you put into the popcorn to coat it. But since joining Weight Watchers, points values come into play and I found a new alternative- Healthy Pop.

My all time favorite is the Healthy Pop Kettle Corn- which I buy the big boxes of and keep as a staple in my cupboard. I can have 4 cups of this for only 1 point. That is just simply amazing. It’s so delicious and so satisfying. Plus, Jolly Time’s Healthy Pop is the lowest points value for any of the “light” popcorns I have found out there- plus, it’s the best tasting.

But it doesn’t stop there. There are three other flavors of the Healthy Pop: Caramel Apple, Light Butter, and Crispy White. All of these are delicious. Hubby likes the Caramel Apple more than I do- I would rather have the Kettle Corn, Light Butter, or Crispy White.

If you don’t have anyone to share the big bag of popcorn with, Jolly Time has the answer for that too. They make 100 calorie bags of the Healthy Pop along with a Low Sodium version of the Butter flavor. Because of the fiber content, these are only 1 point per bag. These would be perfect to take to work! When hubby and I can’t decide on a flavor to split, we pop two of these and either eat one bag each or mix two flavors together. They’re perfect! I love the cute little bags. Just make sure to listen to the popping so that you don’t burn the popcorn- don’t leave them on the popcorn setting on your microwave!

Before I received this gift pack, I didn’t know that Jolly Time made the Low Sodium Butter popcorn. There is a significant difference in the sodium content between the Low Sodium and the regular butter flavors. The low sodium only has 20 mg. per cup and the regular butter than 70 mg. per cup. That’s a pretty big difference!

FUN FACT: Jolly Time was founded in 1914 in Sioux City, IA by Cloid H. Smith. Did you know that in the early 1900’s many Americans did not even know what popcorn was? I can’t imagine! Jolly Time was the first brand name popcorn, at that time called American Popcorn Company. (Information from One Fun Place: 90 Years of History, American Pop Corn Company, generously sent as part of the gift package. I love history, so this is a fun read!)

I am happy to be able to share this wonderful product with all of you. Who doesn’t like a guilt free snack? I’m hoping that you have all heard of Jolly Time by now, but if not- you should definitely check it out! If you cannot find it in a store near you- you can even order online!

But even better, you can win a gift pack! Jolly Time has graciously offered to send one winner a gift pack. This giveaway will end Monday, October 18th at 5:00 PM CT and the winner will be chosen with a random number generator.  This is only open to those within the continental United States. 19. memory associated with popcorn???

My Mom used to make popcorn on the stove in a pan with oil and put it in a paper grocery bag until it was about half full, then melt a stick of butter and pour that in and fold it closed and shake the heck out of the bag and we would take this to the drive in movies. OK, OK, I AM old!!!

  21. A popcorn memory: once when my kids were small, we ran out of microwave popcorn. I sent hubby to the store for more and he came back with the old fashioned kind and so I just popped some up in a pan on the stove. My kids were absolutely amazed that you could make popcorn that way! For several years after that we had to make old fashioned popcorn every time they had a friend over...these kids had never seen anything like it!

  22. My Popcorn Memory: Mine doesn't really involve me, but I was present and it's just so cute... at least I think so. In college every Saturday that there was a home football game two of my friends and I would go. We were friends with the entire football team, and everyone pretty much new who we were. Well my friend Megz always got popcorn. Her football boyfriend would bring it over before the game, and it became a tradition and a good luck deal. Well this one time someone else brought it over and the only thing in it was a ring she looked at the ring and out to the field where people spelled out "Megan will you marry me" cutest thing ever. Popcorn means so much to them now and they even had a popcorn flavored cake lol.

  23. My memory: When my husband and I met, we were just friends for quite a few months before we started dating. I had a MAJOR crush on him, and so I used to go to the show Fantasmic (at Hollywood Studios at WDW) where he worked every single night that I wasn't working. My friends and I would always get popcorn and Sprite from the cart right outside of the show. We'd watch the show, eat our popcorn, wait for the ampitheatre to empty, then I'd go find and flirt with Rob. Popcorn always reminds me of that fun time in my life :)

  26. My favorite memory that involves popcorn is the years I spent working at the local theater during high school. We used to make sure to add extra butter/seasoning (and who knows how many more calories) when we made the popcorn. We were also able to take leftover popcorn home, one year for Christmas I took a friend an entire garbage bag full. We still laugh about that today.

  27. New flavor: Some type of chocolate ...Sounds gross but if done right that would accomplish the sweet & salty issue in one bite.

  28. I don't add anything to my popcorn....why mess with an already perfect food! My daughter mixes in a bag of Reece's pieces to their large movie bucket and says it is delish!
