My Love for RunKeeper

I knew it! I knew it! As frustrating as it is for my weight to go up on weigh in day, I knew it couldn’t be right. This morning I lost almost 2 lbs. Now that’s more like it! SmileI guess I’m not doing it all wrong after all. That’s so encouraging.

For breakfast this morning, I had 1/2 of a Panera Bread Blueberry bagel topped with whipped strawberry cream cheese along with a glass of milk and a bowl of fruit (strawberries, a peach and blueberries). I love me some summer fruit!! 8 points total.

Last weekend, I found out that many of Panera’s bagels are about 4 pts. for half of one. Bagel thins are 3 points. I find 1/2 of a Panera bagel much more satisfying and it fills me up a lot more. And oh so delicious!

I made an iced latte this morning for 1 point.

This coffee was made from coffee beans that I ground. I noticed the coffee is strong, but it’s very light colored. I wonder if it’s the coffee? Very strange. It makes it look like I’m putting extra milk or something in my latte because it’s so light colored! Maybe just the roast. Who knows.

For my first break, I had a serving of Dry Roasted peanuts with sea salt for 4 points.

For lunch, I made a salad with the fresh lettuce out of the garden. I added salmon, feta, almonds, blueberries, mandarin oranges and Trader Joe’s Raspberry vinaigrette for 8 points.

For dessert, I had FF/SF chocolate pudding for 2 points.

On my last break, I wanted to get ready to go running, so I changed clothes and drank up a Gatorade G2 for 1 point.

I really like this stuff and I like that it comes in little packets so you can use your reusable water bottle. Very convenient because they also don’t take up as much space as a bunch of bottles! And 1 point? Awesome!

After work, I headed right out for my run. I have new motivation to work out. I recently upgraded to a smart phone and I LOVE IT! Hubby’s had one for a while and I’ve been so jealous. We’ve been using the RunKeeper app for some time now, but today was the first time I used it by myself. It tracks your activity with GPS and when you’re done, you can go online and see a map of where you went, all of the stats—including pace on each mile and so much more!! While running, you can see the distance, pace, etc. So I went out and ran 3.1 miles in 40:34—I think that’s record time for me!! That’s SO motivating to me! I found this interesting:

That’s my pace per mile. I didn’t know I could run a mile in 11:37—but I did today! I’m so proud of myself! But look how much I slowed down on miles 2 and 3. How do you improve that? And my other stats:

The calorie burn is not accurate. I wore my HR monitor and it shows that I burned 507 calories. By the way—this app is totally free too! Amazing!

When I got home, I got supper ready. I made one of my favorite meals. I’ve got to post this recipe sometime! I don’t really have a name for it—but it’s whole wheat pasta with alfredo, veggies, and teriyaki chicken. This was 7 points.

I also had a slice of light bread with Smart Balance and garlic powder on top for 2 points.

For dessert, I had a banana sundae for 2 points. I actually chose this over eating ice cream tonight…that really shows how much I enjoy these banana sundaes because we all know how I love ice cream!

I used 2 weekly points today and I am full. Not to mention, satisfied.

I’m happy tomorrow is FINALLY FRIDAY!! Hubby and I are going to run a 5k on Saturday—so I might make tomorrow my second rest day of the week. I hope I can run it at the same pace I did today!

  2. The half bagel is more satisfying because a bagel thin is just a sandwich thin with a hole in it LOL. Not a real bagel :D

  3. That banana looks awesome! I've been drooling over them since you started posting them. I'm gonna have to break down and make one!
Whoot on the 2 lbs! You worked HARD this weekend and my weight is always up after hard workouts. It's why I *always* have Sunday as a rest day because my weigh ins are on Mondays.
You are going in the right direction and you ROCK!!
