It was a cold, cold morning here in Iowa. Good thing I didn’t have to leave the house! Hubby did though. He made sure to let his truck warm up! BRRR!
I couldn’t decide what I wanted for breakfast. And then I remembered the Frozen Steel Cut Brown Sugar & Maple Oats from Trader Joe’s. I heated those up and sliced a banana on top and also drank 1 cup of 1% milk for 7 points. Also, I pictured my multi-vitamin that I take every morning- I don’t usually show that!
I’ve noticed a very peculiar thing that I do when I eat. I eat all of the things that I don’t like as much first and save the things that I do like a lot for last. Now I do like both steel cut oats and bananas- but this morning, I realized I had done the same thing with my breakfast! I ate all of the steel cut oats and pushed the bananas to the side for last- how weird. Do you do that? lol
And then it was time to work. We were pretty busy today!
For my first break, I had 1/2 serving of TJ’s whole grain crackers with 2 Tbs. Roasted red pepper hummus for 3 points.
I also had an apple with PB for 3 points.
For lunch, I planned ahead and put a couple of small potatoes in the oven so they were baked by lunch time. I topped them with steamed broccoli and 2% shredded cheddar for a delicious 7 point lunch!
For dessert, I had 1/2 cup Dannon Light and Fit vanilla yogurt with 1/2 cup blueberries for 1 point.
I had some scheduled time off this afternoon so I didn’t have to work much longer after lunch!
A little while later, I was craving something sweet so I had a Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate bar with caramel for 2 points.
I worked on frosting the cupcakes for the get together tonight. Have you ever seen frosting in a squirt bottle can? Pillsbury makes some called Easy Frost and so I picked up a bottle of it yesterday. This stuff is amazing! It’s easy and mess free! Plus, my cupcakes turned out pretty!
I have 11 points left for the day. I will definitely be using some weekly points tonight. I think they’re ordering pizza- which isn’t usually points friendly unless they happen to order thin crust. But I will eat with moderation and enjoy it.
I hope you all have fantastic weekends! I’m not sure what recipe I’m going to be posting this weekend- have you seen something I’ve made that you would like the recipe for? Let me know! I need some ideas!
Congratulations to the Crafty Jogger for winning the Yoplait Fiber One Blueberry Prize Pack sponsored by MyBlogSpark!
congrats to the winner!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
I eat all the things I don't like as much first too. I think it all goes back to my childhood when my parents used to make me eat my veggies first before I ate the other stuff. I guess it stuck with me. I'm glad someone else does it. I thought I was weird.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend and enjoy your party! The cupcakes look great! Maybe try eating something low points before you go so you only want 1 piece or so.
ReplyDeleteI do that too with eating all the things I don't like as much first! I thought I was the only one ;)
ReplyDeleteThe cupcakes are so cute! I want one!
I always save the best part of the meal for last. If I'm eating yogurt and glazed pecans I'll eat as much yogurt as I can and then eat all the pecans.
ReplyDeleteI eat the same way. I love broccoli, but I always eat the veggies first to get them out of the way, so to speak LOL!
ReplyDeleteYum, cupcakes. Makes me want one.
Your cupcakes are so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI've tried that oatmeal from Trader Joe's and quite liked it. Ooh, and the yogurt and blueberries look awesome. :)
Those are seriously good looking cupcakes!!!! Enjoy your weekend Alisa!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having a sweet day!
