Last Day of Class and CSN Stores Giveaway Winner

I tried to eat something different for breakfast this morning. It took all I had not to have peanut butter toast with bananas sliced on top. Winking smile So I had 1 cup of cheerios and 1/2 cup of Fiber One with 1/2 cup of 1% milk and a banana for 6 points.

I liked the extra flavor that the Fiber One added. I was also surprised to see that 1/2 cup of milk is 1 point but a whole cup is 3. I hate that the new system doesn’t allow for 1/2 points anymore- just whole numbers. It just takes some getting used to but sometimes it’s hard to calculate.

I spent the morning taking it easy. I finally got caught up on my blogs! I really need to clean out my blog roll, there are so many on there that haven’t been updated months and some for a year! Kind of sad! I wonder what happened to those people? If they gave up on their weight loss journeys or if they just stopped blogging about it. Well maybe I should just check up on them. Smile

Once again, I struggled and struggled with whether I should run in the morning or wait until later. I was thinking about going back to bed for a couple of hours- but decided I’d probably feel better if I just stayed up and worked out. So I finally decided on a run. I wasn’t in the mood, so I told myself I could just do the bare minimum today, which for me is 1.5 miles. I walk 1/4, run 1 mile, walk 1/4. I felt a million times better and I burned 218 calories. I have completed 8.79 miles of my merry-thon! I have to say that I have never completed a run and thought, “man I wish I hadn’t run!” Why do we struggle to get ourselves to exercise when we know we will feel fabulous afterwards?

I don’t want to get bored with running, and I really need to cross train. I just want to make sure I complete my merry-thon as I cannot run 25 miles on the last day just to finish like I biked 25 miles on the last day of my 100 mile challenge. So I have to stay on top of my running if I want to finish. I can feel my knees and legs getting sore. I think that a nice walk outside in the snow sounds good- but it’s just too cold out there for me!

Post workout, I snacked on juicy pear for 0 points.

On my way to school, I ate a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Larabar- these are SO good. First time trying this flavor and I really enjoyed it, but they are high in points! 6 points for one bar, but they are healthy…

Today was the last day of class! I was so excited to FINALLY BE DONE! Next week is finals week and then I will be off of school for almost a month!

On my way home from school, I ate an apple for 0 points.

I was so hungry during my last class, but it was lunch time, so I guess that’s normal! When I got home, I had a similar lunch to yesterday. I had a BBQ Chicken and Feta salad and about a cup of squash for 6 points.

And for dessert I had a No Pudge! brownie- something I haven’t had in a long time. I forgot how good these are! 3 points.

And before signing into work, I brewed Costa Rican Peaberry Coffee and added some flavored creamer for 2 points.

Work went quickly today! Hubby was going to be later than usual, so I tried to keep myself busy by doing things around the house and getting supper ready. I snacked on a banana for 0 points.

I finished my homework for the night and had everything finished by the time hubby got home so that we could spend the night relaxing- his chores included! He was happy about that!

For supper, I made Taco soup and homemade corn bread. I adapted both recipes and I will be sharing them at some point. I drizzled honey on the corn bread and put light sour cream and FF cheese on top of the soup. This was a total of 11 points.

For dessert, I had a slice of Kelly’s Crustless pumpkin pie for 2 points.

I am definitely full now! I used 2 weekly points today. I feel like it was a good, healthy eating day today! I’m SO SO HAPPY tomorrow is Friday!!

  8. I get sad when bloggers disappear. Good job on your run yesterday. I battled with running yesterday, and only managed 1 mile...but that is something!

  9. I've only been blogging for a few months, and already notice some folks, who seem so motivated and encouraged just "drop off" the blogsphere. It IS sad, because I'd still like to touch base and see how they are. I hope they are ok and are continuing their journeys to health!

  10. What's a No Pudge brownie? That looks good!
I usually need to get my workouts in right when I wake up. If I put it off too long I'll find an excuse not to exercise.

  13. Thanks for linking to the pumpkin pie recipe. I wanted it for myself but my boss' daughter is having surgery next week and will only be able to eat soft foods for a few weeks. This will be perfect for her.

And I am going to enjoy it too.
